Create a new canvas at 72ppi and dimensions say of 800px x 800px, then choose the type tool at around 20pts - does that come out OK?
At the moment your canvas size is about the size of a football field and your type is the size of an ant, no wonder you can't see it!
To change the size of the type look at the top of your PS screen at the context sensitive menu, there should be an input box to select size of type. It's difficult to explain as I don't have PS in front of me for the next few days.
Failing all of the above advice, try resetting PS preference file Ctrl+Alt+Shift held down whilst opening PS, should give you the option to reset prefs. At least this gives you a baseline on which to operate again. _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

It looks like you just clicked without dragging to make a box so that you can type in. |
