hi,

a Photoshop amateur enthusiast here. Name's AJ.


have a question for the experts:

how can you apply this effect onto a gif:



I don't know what it's called, I call it the "grid effect". Obviously, it reduces the file size of the gif, without reducing the pixel size dimensions.


Here's the original, "ungridded" version.



Would appreciate any help.

Hey Jargos,

Looks like the dither to me.

The effect is actually applied to the gif when saving the file using the 'save for web' dialog.

Try the settings below to make a distinct dither pattern on your own gif.

Appreciate the info, but it's not dithering, imo.
Tried dithering, seems like it's not it.
