Randomly one day after restarting my computer, Photoshop no longer opens up. It starts, loads the usual window and then immediately stops responding and crashes. The debug message is..
Quote:
Unhandled exception at 0x000007feeef0356f in Photoshop.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x0000000000000000.

All my other CS4 programs seem to still work fine. I have tried uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalling it and nothing changed. Anyone have the same problem or any idea how to fix it? I'm a web designer and use Photoshop daily so I'm pretty lost without it!

With sympathy, that's happened before to me as well, but I can't remember how to fix it... I know, not the answer you want.

But the fact that it starts and then crashes sounds like it doesn't have enough RAM to open in... You might want to try closing un-needed programs, or a restart usually works. Restart your computer then try to open it. If that doesn't work, then we can troubleshoot from there.

Just restarted and tried to start up photoshop with nothing else open except task manager. Still didn't open. I have 4 gb RAM and it never got over 2 when I tried to open it so I don't think that's it.

Two other details I forgot to mention earlier are:
OS: Windows 7 (64 bit)
Neither 64 bit or regular version of photoshop would open

That's really weird... Well the error code "0xC0000005" means that there's a problem with files, generally in the registry. First off, try running some registry cleaners or malware software... (free versions will work)

I've used all of those and they work great for me. If that doesn't work, then you should google "0xC0000005" and there's a bunch of things that come up on how to fix it. I did exactly that and it looks like running those applications (above) will fix it, but if not there's other ways to go about it. Let me know if you need more help.

Your exe file has destroyed. You have to reinstall the photo shop.
