A lotta people use different techniques,
Duplicate the BG layer (the original image) u'll see why.
then turn off the BG layer and go to the duplicate copy
Grab pen tool and click around your image, right click when it's done, make selection, feather by 1 or 2.
Select----invert-- then hit delete on yur keyboard.
U should now have the unwanted part gone.
You can add a new layer, fill it with any color (maybe the new BG color u want) and drag it below the duplicate layer.
so the duplicate is on top, now u can use the eraser tool to edit any part u don't want....
U can now delete the first image that u turned the visibilty off.
It takes time, I've just moved over to PS after using PSP for a while and still tryna perfect this technique.
BTW, u wouldn't happen to have a stock photo of business people (in suits, in office on phone, behind computer screen) that I can use for free?
I've been searching for days w/no luck, and since y'all do your own photography, y'all might have one or 2 to give away. |

No, we just take photos of our shoes - got plenty of those
There was a pretty cool site that had free stock photography, mostly by amateurs but it was pretty good. Can't remember the address though, I'll look for it _________________ Brandon Eley - I actually used Photoshop 2.0!

Not everything can be solved with 3 clicks |
Exactly.
The mask layer is the best way to accomplish this.
I find everything else to be pretty inaccurate...although I am a bit on the obsessive side.

I Zoom in hardcore, and get out the 1px eraser tool! takes a little longer but works too. _________________ *novice Photochopper*

Ok first i don't use that pen tool very often it always makes everything all jaged
the way i dealt with that type of issue is :
i post up a layer
on the new later i use a big ol brush and color the object
once colored
i simply use the wand to select the black
drop back to the original layer
and erase the remaining unwanted stuffs
it usualy works pretty well for me |

I recently saw a review in a magazine I read about a software called Extensis Mask Pro 3. I've not tried it personally, but the result they got was simply amazing - they removed really difficult objects like soap bubbles and glass from pictures in mere minutes. |

Current Versions out are: Mask Pro 3 for MAC and Mask Pro 2.0.4 for Windows
You can get the demo version HERE <--For Windows this is a Full Version Timed Demo from the company which can be unlocked by purchasing a serial number.
Beware it's a hefty 9.1Meg download...but worth it!
