I am trying to work in photoshop and, for some reason, I pressed something that made the tool box go away. I've been clicking on things for an hour now and can't get it. What am I doing?

For awhile, I had a totally black screen with nothing but the image and nothing to click, etc.... gulp... I had to shut down my computer and restart it to get out of that one.

You may have hit the Tab key. Hit Tab again to see if comes back. Otherwise go Window>Tools.

The black screen with image is called "Full Screen Mode"
PS has three screen modes, toggled by pressing the F key.

EDIT
(Moi types quicker than I!)

The second Screen Mode (Full with menu bar) can come in real handy when working near edge of zoomed-in image. Hand tool will move to outside of image edge, just like in Illustrator.

And don't forget that the color outside the document can be changed in that last mode...just shift-click with the Paint Bucket tool in that area, I believe.

Yep. Full Screen with menu bar.
But Full Screen w/o menu is always black. (I believe)
