I'm pretty sure I've asked this bafore, but the search results don't seem to show it. So I'll ask again.

Let's say I have two canvases the same size. Can I drag a leyer from one canvas to the other and have it apear in the same place? Or would it do that if I copied and pasted?

thanks for any replies.

if you copy and paste it will do it also if when you drag and drop you drag it to the grey area outside the image it will center it I believe :)

Use the move tool to drag layers from one canvas to another. I believe that holding shift while dragging will center it, and holding ctrl will put it in the same spot. Dragging saves on the temp memory that photoshop uses, as compared to cutting and pasting.

okay, thanks guys. I knew about shift and copy/drag/memusga, I'd just lost that little tidbit of info about moving to same spot.
