I am attemptin to learn Photoshop using the book Classroom in a Book. I am currently on Lesson 7, but can't seem to get beyond a problem with the patch tool. Specifically, I'm trying to remove some bolt holes on a mountain side, adjacent to a climber. My instructions say to select the patch tool, circle the bolt holes, and drag the selection to an unblemished area of the rock. I can see the original area displaying the same pixels as the lassoed selection, but when I release the mouse the holes are still there. However, weirdly enough, if I do this same thing in reverse over an unblemished area and move to the holes, new holes appear in the unblemished area. My question is: Why can't I make the holes dissapper when I circle them and move to another area? The Source is selected in the tool options bar.
I am aware that there may be other methods to remove the bolt holes, but that would defeat the purpose of the lesson. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
