Hey everyone,

First off, hello! New to the boards (I'll have to formerly introduce myself when I get home from work in another thread).

I'm kinda of in a crunch to finish a design for a site but am attempting a new approach. An dim lit ambient background gradient (barley like light rays).

The website I can use for inspiration can be found here.
http://versionsapp.com/

As you can see it has a beautiful layout, however the ambient light blue gradient textured background has been quite a pickle for me to generate something even remotely similar to it.

I've tried many different approaches: Gaussian blurred lines, gradient combos, brush masking; all to no avail. Hoping some of you guys could give it a go or point me in the right direction to getting a similar result.

Any help would be most appreciated and will be home shortly to continue working on this and hopefully responding to comments.

Best...

Sean H.

Hey, you should have chosen an easier design to copy. Big Wink

Here is something close (I hope)

Try using a round gradient mask on a dim blue layer and square it out by unlinking the mask and transforming it.

Then get some streaks on a layer above at the right angle and use a reflected gradient mask from the inside out.
Use appropriate blending mode, photo filter streaks if too white.

To make the streaks, you can use this technique.

Use the motion blur to fuzz them up.

Would not be surprised at all if the design your trying to copy was partly done in 3D modeling app.

Nice job, looks like the real deal to me :)

I was going to suggest similar or a render>lighting effects with a mask/blur, but that sounds more complicated and may not replicate it as accurately.
