Hi all, I've been using photoshop for a while and this is the first time i've come across this problem (despite doing the same thing plenty of times before no probs). All i am trying to do is select a small piece of my painting and duplicate and slightly rotate it, however every time i try to transform selection, it just transforms the outline of the selection not the actual graphic inside. I know i'm missing something obvious but i just cannot work it out. I'm using photoshop 7.
Any help would be appreciated. |

Not too sure what you mean but are you sure you have the layer of the graphic selected? It doesn't sound like you would have this problem being a user of photoshop for sometime but you never know. Perhaps I'm not understanding your problem. _________________ www.angryjohnny.ca |

Hi Despina,
Most probably, you are using "Selection > Transform Selection" command.
To turn selected graphics (and not just selection border) you need "Free Transform" (Edit > Free Transform).
Also, it seems you are transforming selected area in the same layer. I'd suggest copying it to new layer [Ctrl+J] before activating "Free Transform" _________________ Andrei Doubrovski

Yeah i have double triple and quadruple checked i was on the right layer lol. I have had other people tell me i should just make a new layer for it, but it was such a small graphic and i need to copy it many times so i didnt know if this was necessary. I will try free transform and see if i was just hitting the wrong button Thanks for the help |
