Hi all, I've been using photoshop for a while and this is the first time i've come across this problem (despite doing the same thing plenty of times before no probs). All i am trying to do is select a small piece of my painting and duplicate and slightly rotate it, however every time i try to transform selection, it just transforms the outline of the selection not the actual graphic inside. I know i'm missing something obvious but i just cannot work it out. I'm using photoshop 7.
Any help would be appreciated.

Not too sure what you mean but are you sure you have the layer of the graphic selected? It doesn't sound like you would have this problem being a user of photoshop for sometime but you never know. Perhaps I'm not understanding your problem.

Hi Despina,
Most probably, you are using "Selection > Transform Selection" command.
To turn selected graphics (and not just selection border) you need "Free Transform" (Edit > Free Transform).

Also, it seems you are transforming selected area in the same layer. I'd suggest copying it to new layer [Ctrl+J] before activating "Free Transform"

Yeah i have double triple and quadruple checked i was on the right layer lol. I have had other people tell me i should just make a new layer for it, but it was such a small graphic and i need to copy it many times so i didnt know if this was necessary. I will try free transform and see if i was just hitting the wrong button :) Thanks for the help
