I have a feeling I am dealing with a preset problem. One day my dodge and burn tool stopped working. They just don't highlight or darken. I have already compressed my files, degfragmented, purged, etc. It seems to be something with the tool set up. Also, my healing brush stopped too.

Have you tried to reset your Photoshop preferences? Holding Ctrl+Alt+Shift Whilst Opening Photoshop or a relevant PSD, should bring up a dialogue box, asking if you want to reset preferences.

If that doesn't work, come back and we'll go into more detail.

I did this and now none of the tools work. I can crop and lasso, but i have no healing brush, paintbrush, or clone. Now it seems I've lost everything.
