Hi:

Just wondering if anyone can tell me how to write a message in the sand. I found something on line with photoshop buddy but when I try to copy the text to a new layer the text disappears which is the second step out of 10 or so.....help

Can you link us to the tutorial that you're using? Make sure that your layers are properly labeled and layered (ei text layer above background layer).

When you hit ctrl+j to make a copy of the mask on a new layer then it duplicates the pixels underneath into a new layer. This may seem like it disappears however if you hide the background layer you should be able to see the cut out text.

dmb,
Perhaps, "writing in the snow" tech will work for you:
