I am a newbie so this may be obvious to some.....How do you convert Raw files to JPEGS non destructively?
I want to save certain files down as JPEGS so that I can crate DVD slide shows whilst retaining the original files for other uses. Any help appreciated

Hi Pigpy,
Photoshop can't destruct your RAW image. On opening such a file, PS launches CameraRAW plugin (ACR) that only edits/adds metadata without affecting image itself.

After adjusting white balance, sharpness, and/or other settings and clicking "Open" (the button name may vary across ACR versions), program saves the changes (separately from the image data) and opens copy of your RAW photo as a new Photoshop document.

Now you can edit the picture (if needed) and save it to JPEG using "Save As" or "Save for Web" commands.
