Don't rip a CD with iTunes and start photoshop at the same time. I've tried twice with a 100% failure rate. _________________ brush your hair and comb your teeth
I don't normally use iTubnes for listening. I was only using it to rip, because I do not have winamp full paid version, and I refuse to use windows media. I quite like the way iTunes works, very simple, nice design. FAR superior to windows media player.
As for xmms, I found it too small. I could hardly read any of the text in it's windows. _________________ brush your hair and comb your teeth

if you right click on it, you can change the size of xmms, and also, its meant to be small as to not get in the way, yet still be useable _________________ www.jerseyhacker.co.uk
But then it gets pisely, because it's blown up too much!
My problem actually is a small monitor, which I run at a fairly high resolution in order to get more work area for photoshop and 3d software. In linux, I could run it at lower res, because all I do with linux is word processing, internet, email, etc... oh yeah, and burning out my brain trying to figure out how the hack to do anything else.
I think the initial difficulty of getting into linux could be waht keeps people away from it. I've got Fedora 3, but if I wanted to do something that would involve me instaling something inlinux, getting new software, or trying something new, it is actually easier and quicker for me to use windows. Because of this I haven't touched it in about 3 months.

Yes, but fedora core isnt exactly the worlds greatest linux, it comes with an installer, so you dont learn anythiogn about the unix code that puts it together, and it makes it a pain to install things without portage, at least in gentoo, you manullly install off of a livecd, so you learn some elements of unix coding, and although its hard to install most programs, there is a database of like 10,000+ programs and utilities you can just type in emerge "whatever you want" and it downloads and installs it automatically for you _________________ www.jerseyhacker.co.uk

My personal Linux explorations have included SuSE 9.1 (my favourite so far), red hat (can't remembner which), and fedora core 3 (which I'm running right now). Unfortunately, as I mentioned once already, my learning progress has been minimal and lately nonexistent.
I know a guy who talks about nothing but linux every time I see him. Lst time i saw him, he downloaaded a shell app thingy to the computer at the school and it allowed him to access his computer at home. He asked me what programs I wanted on my computer, and then I watched as it took about 2 minutes for him to download and install all 3 on his comuter.
