Do you see the layer of grass that the character is standing on? How would I make this kind of grass in Photoshop? It's not over-realistic and it's slightly cartoony. Great for the videogame I'm designing. So I need a way to create grass that looks somewhat like the one in the picture, with all the shading and what not. What's a good approach? Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dalal

There is a grass brush in Photoshop 7.0 and higher versions. You could use that.

I did this photo just now so you can see Photoshop has a grass brush. You can easliy modify the brush too or you can create your own brush.

Thanks for the reply...
I knew about the Grass brush, but the grass looks too realistic, and the top of the grass should be a straight line. It's not the type of grass I want. Take a look at this grass in this DOS Mario game...
It has a cartoony black line on the top and it has a sort of gradient shading, it gets darker as it goes down and merges into the layer underneath. Look at the platforms closely. That's almost EXACTLY how I want the platforms to look in my game, they should be bigger though. How would I make something similar to this in Photoshop?
Sorry for being a newb...

Why don't you just tube out the grass from the graphic above, and use it?

I was thinking that same thing after I posted that..I guess it would matter if he is making a game for just himself or not..
And it would be a good lesson in Photoshop to try and make your own things..
Sorry, I retract that suggestion..

How's this? I used a pen tool, and made grass..duplicated it..It can be done more randomly..
The base is a gradient, with texture, I think it was lichen..
