Probably one of the easiest things to do in Photoshop Elements 9, or from what Ive seen in the videos but for the love of me I cant get it to work.
Here are my steps:
Use smart brush to select teeth
-->Go to Layer tab at the top
theyre all greyed out :*(
Now heres the problem in every video Ive watched people can select any one of these options but they are all greyed out for me....
How do I get them available?
thanks in advance |

Try a rough selection with the lasso and then use either an adjustment layer or direct selection and Ctrl+U for a hue/saturation layer and remove the yellow from the image. Further enhancement can be achieved with Brightness/Contrast etc...
To be honest I am not au-fait with Elements so forgive me if I go astray. _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

I don't know about ur method, but the things I've done, is using the cloning (stamp) tools, to actually select a small white part of the teeth and then copy it over the yellow or whatever colors are present in the teeth. Other thing is the painting the teeth with a correct realistic shade of white. But the second method might look the teeth a bit awkward. Third is the changing of hue and saturation, but u could not exactly get the color you want so easily. _________________ Progeria | Atherosclerosis | Geoffrey Chaucer | T.S.Eliot |

Are you simply opening an image in Photoshop elements and trying to edit it? Also, I'm not really familiar with Elements but maybe try doubleclicking on the base image in the layers palette to convert it into an editable layer???? _________________ http://www.jmerrittphotorestoration.com/ |

merovius, I'm not familiar with Elements, but in Photoshop some things are not available if you are working on the background layer. Double clicking on the background layer turns it into a "normal" layer. It's one things worth trying. |

A quick easy tip for teeth whitening in photoshop that is really simple create a transparent layer on top of image and paint over the teeth and eye whites if desired in white set layer to colour overlay and then adjust transparancie to your liking simple way that saves a lot of time with selection etc _________________ When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes.
