Hi guys,
I have used Photoshop for many years, but have never done websites.
Do you know where I can find a tutiorial from start to finish of a project so I can see complete step by step.
Honestly I feel really stupid because I can't seem to make links using Imageready.
I know I am supposed to put the url for the next page, but when I open the site the images are all screwed up.
I know it's something basic i'm not getting, and i'm embarrassed to even ask, but if you know what i am missing or where i could find a basic tutiorial on linking other pages i would appreciate it.
ImageReady isn't really intended for creating entire web sites. I imagine it's possible, but few would recommend it. ImageReady is really just there to help you get images set up for web display. The gap between ImageReady and Photoshop is getting slimmer and slimmer, and I can't imagine ImageReady lasting more than one or two more versions before being totally integrated into Photoshop.
My advice to you: if you want to do web design, either invest in a program like Macromedia Dreamweaver or learn HTML code. I do all my web design using the latter method. I simply type out the HTML (plus CSS and/or Javascript when necessary) in Notepad. This takes some time to learn, but it's free and very flexible. Many amateurs and professionals prefer to use programs like Dreamweaver, which allow you to graphically arrange your pages without learning lots of code.
If you want to create a web site from scratch using HTML, you can open Notepad and enter the code. When you go to Save As, type the filename you want plus the extension .htm or .html. (I believe .htm is preferred these days, but either one will work.) The appearance of the Notepad document will not change. However, if you try to open the file by double-clicking its icon, it will open a web page in whatever browser you own. In IE, you can go to View>Source to open the HTML code in Notepad. Other browsers have similar commands.
Good web design isn't easy, but it's rewarding. There are a lot of tutorials out there for getting started with HTML. As far as computer codes go, it's really pretty simple. Good luck! _________________ Interested in showcasing your special effects or learning some new ones from the masters? Check out PSFX!
