Before I even begin investing a lot of time into figuring this out as I have a deadline to contend with, I thought I'd pose the question. I have an image I'd like to use as cover art for a curriculum workbook. It will be full color, full bleed 8.5 by 11 inches. The image that we'd like to use is great, but may not be usable for printing. Its like 4x5 inches at 300 dpi. Its a JPG file. I wanted to know if you thought I could use Genuine Fractals to double its size. Additionally, I would like to create an effect on the image that makes it a bit darker so the person in the image is more of a silhouette against the backdrop. I'd like suggestions on how to do that and if some kind of effect like that could minimize any kind of distortion created from upscaling the image.
Would greatly appreciate your thoughts!!!
