Hey all guys!!! i'm new and i hope to learn alot noew stuf,f im pretty n00b with photoshop (7) so i think i'll be asking a lot of questions but thats where this forum is for right??
anyway, when you have for ex. have a background (flames) a character (like euh Link from the legend of zelda) and a peace of flames to do on top o f links legs, then i want the front flames transparent so you can still also see Links legs (but in a bit red ofcourse because of the flames)
How can i do that???

You need the put
"the front flames"
on a different layer and lower the opacity of that layer, until it looks right, welcome to the forums!

If you set the layer blend mode to overlay white usualy dissapears (screen mode for black) but this will depend on the background color to a certain extent. So otherwise select the white with the magic wand and hit delete and hey presto it's gone! Wayne
