My computer hard drive is almost full, I have started loading new pictures onto an external hard drive. Can I move the pictures from my" C "drive to the external drive and retain all the tagging info which is associated with the "C" drive, there are several thousand pictures and I want to avoid having to go through the tagging process again.

Fairly sure the tagging info will be retained when copying/moving pictures from one HDD to another.
According to people smarter than I am, tags are embedded in the XMP data on the image.
I tried copying some over the my network just now and the tags were still present.
My recommendation would be to copy a few as a test and if it doesn't work then come back and we can investigate it some more. |
