I would like to stroke a path with a pattern but where the pattern direction aligns itself to the direction of the path. i.e if the pattern is an horizontal line after stroking the path the horizontal line will always be perpendicular to the path. In the attached pic you can see the path and the lines crossing it are just drawn by hand rather then using a stroke pattern.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Turning the pattern 90 degrees cw or ccw? Or am I just underthinking this?

Thank you for replying.

If I had used the pattern the way it is there will be only horizontal lines following the path. With your suggestion there will be only vertical lines following the path. Whether vertical or horizontal what I would like to achieve is that that the pattern will swivel based on the direction of the path. I hope I managed to explain myself :-)
