I was making a layer image and i added a text first by using the rectangualer marcuquee and using my text tool to place a text in it but i couldn't see it, then i just decide to use the text tool streatch it out so i can have a place to type in still couldn't see , but b4 when i was messing with my layers on a blank canvas i could see my text but this time i have a back ground and i don't see my text at all.i'm using photoshop cs2 on windows.

O another thing is it possible after i save my layered image is it possible to open up the image and move the same layers around with out using the lasso.
thank u very much

Is it possible that your text layer is below the backgound layer? Make sure you text layer is not being covered.

You can move within the layer using the move tool...if you mean can you move the layers up and down just keep an eye on the layer pallete clcik and drag up or down.

Was the picture layer over the text layer?

If you worked on dif. layers, don't flatten the image or merge the layers and save as a PSD file..yes.

If you worked on a single layer, no..if you saved as a jpeg or Gif, no.

If you have problems with layers look it up in the PS help its very useful when getting started.

If U want to keep your layers then U have 2 save as a PSD.
If U save as jpeg, tiff, gif or anything like that, then it will flatten your layers & if U had text behind enother layer then it will be gone.

Its always a good idea to save a PSD of every file before u make it whatever type of file U want.

As far as layers go, yes u can move the layer from front to back or vice versa. On the layers window, the layer on the top is of the list is the layer in the most front & the bottom layer is the most behind.

Layers R the key to making great graphics in Photoshop.
