I created a sig pic for someone, but I'm unable to save it properly as a jpg. The top image is what it looks like in photoshop, but the bottom image is what it looks like when opened in any other program. Is the image just too dark, or is there a way to fix this?
The only thing I've come up with so far is to take a screenshot of the psd file, cut it out, and THEN make it a jpg, which is how I got the image I'm uploading here. It works, but I'd like to figure out why this is happening.
Thanks in advance!

First run Adobe Gamma.
If you are saving it to be viewed on the web (or any other non-color managed app) Convert Color Profile to sRGB before Save for Web if the original is in a different color space.

Thanks. I ran Adobe Gamma.
The color profile, though, is already sRGB so that didn't seem to make a difference.
Any other thoughts?

Why can't you save it properly as a .jpg? What error is it giving you when you try to save as a .jpg? Post back and let us know, as this might clue us in a little better and hopefully we'll be able to help you resolve this

The saving process is ok. No errors or anything. But when I open the jpg file with any program other than photoshop, or upload it to the web, I get the bottom version that I posted which is way too dark.
If I open the jpg with photoshop, it looks absolutely fine.
Like I said in my first post, the only way I've been able to save it as a jpg and have it look alright on the web is to take a screenshot of the psd file, cut out what I want, and save THAT as a jpg.
I'd be happy to upload (or e-mail) the .psd file if that would be of any help.
Thanks again for taking your time to help out!

Sounds almost like you're saving it with a profile in photoshop, and other programs or the web won't recognize the profile.
You can email it to me stevefrith@gmail.com
Can't promise that I'll be able to help, but I'll sure try
