Hi. New here, be gentle. I host a large site in Australia, it sells products, and has loads of thumbnails on it. The site owner wants stuff that has been sold to have a diagonal sold written accross it. I realise I can do this with text, but was hoping I could simply make a transparent image that said sold perhaps with red text on a white b/g, then simply put that over, so to speak, each image of the products that get sold, leaving the existing image still visible. Hope that makes sense. Thank you if you can help. I have just spent six hours trying to do it and reading the help files, and got nowhere. My version of Photoshop is 7.0 so if this is possible in a version I dont have I am prepered to buy an upgrade.

The way I'd do it is make a "sold" brush and just stamp it on a new layer over your image and lower the opacity till you can see through it.
I opened a new document about 300 pixles by 100 white. put in the word sold (I used a font called stamp act here) added a border with a stroke.
Then edit define bursh preset.
The next step is just add a new layer over your image, pick a colour click on the word sold and on the layers palette just lower the opacity to suit. Wayne

Thats exactly what I am after but smaller. So thanks for that, the only problem is I didnt fully understand how you did it. Photoshop is not really my prog I am more of a Dreamweaver man., and Flash man.
