Hey, I've never used a forum before so let me know if I'm in the wrong thread.
I have been using photoshop for years and have never had a problem saving gif images. Unfortunately my cat got into my at home office and stepped on the keyboard before the file could be saved as a final gif. Now when I select to save as a gif it asks me to compress layers, options yes or cancel. If I click yes then the file saves as a still image, if cancel then it just doesn't save.
Any ideas of what key stroke to use to fix my problem?
Also, if I save as html the file appears as broken so that is not an option either. Exporting as html has never worked for me.
Any answers asap would be appreciated, this file is for a job that deadline is here.
Thanks,
El |

Hi and welcome to the forum. GIF's and the like are not my area of Photoshop. Resetting the Preference file however is.
Hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift and keep them held whilst opening PS, it should ask if you want to trash the Pref. file. Agree.
It is a bit of a pain in the rear and will bin most useful settings or layout you have got, but a bit of toil and you will soon have them back. Oh and back up your Preferences file for future! _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

Thanks for helping out, I will be sure to try that tomorrow. My friend helped me find what was wrong with the save for web option. Even though I was saving it as a gif there's an option for image only or html. It ends up the program was trying to save it in html. However, I still can't use save as for a gif so maybe you're way will fix that.
Thanks again! |
