Hi,
I'm pretty new with Photoshop. I would like to move contents off of a document but just off to the side so I can move things around without it being cluttered. But when I drag it over it disappears. Is there a way to have it remain visible but off the page I am working on?
Thanks!

The Eye icon to the left of a layer was designed for the purpose of hiding a layer, to allow you to concentrate on other parts of your document;
You can group layers and hide the group, instead of having to individually select a group of layers and hide or show them.
This way you don't have to move any layers off canvas and remembering exactly where to move them back to.
