Hi!

I have a few months old iMac with Photoshop CS6. I use a Wacom Intuos 4 for retouching. I have noticed that Photoshop kind of "gets stuck" when I use healing brush, which I do quite a lot.

When you hold the Alt-key down to take a sample with the healing brush, you then get a crosshair on the area where the sample eas taken, and a circle where you "paint" to heal the new area. Sometimes the crosshair gets stuck when I stop painting, and then Photoshop does not respond at all.

If I press Cmd+Tab and change program to another one that I have open, and then press Cmd+Tab again to enter Photoshop, it's stuck! There are only a few panels and the grey background that's visible.

If I then switch to another program again, and use the mouse or the Wacom pen and push the Photoshop icon in the Dock to enter Photoshop, it works and it's not stuck any more! Don't ask me why...

This fixes the problem temporarily but the same thing happens again after about 20 strokes with the healing brush.

I have 32 GB RAM, 3,5 GHz intel core i7-processor etc so the computer's performance is fine. Could it be the combination Intuos 4 and Mavericks that doesn't work properly? Anyone else who has this problem? I experience the same thing when I use my custom hot key for changing brush size. Sometimes it just gets stuck! Very annoying! I never had this problem with my last iMac from 2009.

I have tried to update the Driver for Intuos 4 to the latest and given Photoshop a lot of memory to work with but the problem is still there.

Please help!

/Markus

Here is the solution:

Just found it, haven't tried it yet but I will as soon as I can. I found the link in a thread at macrumors.com, posted in May this year. It's confirmed to work by a few others in the thread as well.

I hope it works. I have no issues with my Intuos 4 Wireless at all on Mavericks.
