Although I don't have photoshop, I hope someone can tell me if there is help for my wedding photos. The photographer for my wedding used several 35 mm cameras to take photos at my wedding. When we received our proofs, the backgrounds in our indoor photos were all dark to very dark. The photographer blames this on the lighting in the rooms. However, we've seen several friends' pictures and the backgrounds look fine.
Once we have the negatives, is there any hope that the background can be lightened either digitally or through dark room work by a professional? Our photographer tried to do some photoshop work but the colors turned out distorted and grainy.
Some of the pictures are VERY dark in the background but we turned out looking fine. It's like her flash was a spotlight on us while the rest of the room was a black hole. Does anyone know what could have caused this and if it can be fixed either digitally or in a dark room?
Thanks! |

Distorted and grainy is probally gonna be the responce across the board. Its sounds like he didn't try to balance the background lighting with his strobe. Since your background is so completly dark, there's very little to "revive". Sorry to tell you that. If you want, you can email me one or two of the images and I'll see what I can do. |

depending on the photo their is a chance, photo-syntehsis said it correct it will end up distorted if you try to hard to make it come out, a little dodging is the best you can do _________________ http://i337m1k3.deviantart.com for my ART Profile. |

I never started. I did a few when I joined this studio but it's ALWAYS a nightmare. No matter what you do, there will always be something that doesn't turn out right and every little detail that goes wrong is a huge disaster to a bride and groom. Plus, I hate dealing with 8 billion images. Nope, i'll stick to crime scenes thank you. |
