I want to imitate what was done and this video but don't know how to blur/erase the images like he did. If anyone could give me some semi informative instructions that would be great!

I believe what you are referring to are the parts where he is using a soft eraser.
Select the eraser tool.
With the tool active right click on the canvas, this will give you size and hardness options.
Turn the hardness down to 0%.
Erase away to your hearts content.
He was also using clipping masks to remove pixels outside of the banner area.
I encourage you to look for a layer mask tutorial. Using the eraser to create images like those in the video provided is called destructive editing and is regarded as a big no-no.
Using layer masks you can erase parts of layers without actually destroying any pixels. |
