Hi,
Sorry about the subject line, I realize that it is vague but I don't really know what to call this effect.
The effect I'm trying to achieve is to have one image or picture essentially morph into another...not so much fading but whereby the first picture disappears and is replaced by another completely different image, but gradually.
So for example, I have a picture of a table of food but I want this picture to start to fade out (become more transparent) and then have the other image underneath (which will be numbers) come into the forefront slowly as the previous image fades. The last image seen should be the numbers (opaque at this point).
I'll attach the images for the sake of providing visuals but I have no idea if anyone knows what I'm talking about. If you do, then your guidance on how to achieve this effect is greatly appreciated.

Animated GIF would probably be the way to go seeing as you are in the PhotoshopForums. Not really my area but animated GIF's and transitions (frames?) are probably terms you want to look up.
