hi im using PS CS6 and i would like to know if someone can point me on how to change a color of a ring to the another type of gold and not effect the diamonds that are on it the ring is on a white background

It all depends on the picture itself. But likely an adjustment layer will work best masking out the diamonds so they are not affected.

I used a hue/saturation adjustment layer targeting yellow. No masking was necessary for this photo, but others might require it or a different approach.
