Some days ago I purchased a videotutorial of colouring in photoshop.

The artist put the sketch in the superior layer, multiply mode.

On the under layer, he puts color, and the background layer in pure withe. Normal mode both.

He stars colouring in the color layer, and gets 3 different tones, becoming the color at full opacitty at the third brush stroke. This is great for doing shadows, they look great, very gradual and smooth.

He puts all the layers and brushes at 100% opacity.

In less words, he draw in full opacity also all layers are in full opacity

but the brush is in less opacity? how come?

Sorry for my poor english!

There are two setting for the brush in the toll options at the top, opacity and flow. Set the flow lower and you'll see the effect.

It might be the flow as Hawkeye just described, what also might be the case - as a lot of people drawing / colouring with Photoshop using a pen tablet - is that ether the flow or opacity is controlled by the pen pressure.

Thank you for your answers. At last, I found It, and Rarity, you're right.

The opacity is controled by the pen pressure, but if you want that effect, you have to activate it in the upper front panel.

If you want to colouring caricatures or realistic stuff, this is a great tool. That allows to make great shadows and brightnesses.

Thanks for your help!!
