Hi! I would like to remove the background from a short video I took. I set up the camera on a tripod and first took a picture of the plain background. Here's the picture I took -
Then, leaving the camera on the tripod, I shot a video. Here's a screenshot -
(isn't my dog cute? ) Is there any way to remove parts of the background but leave me and the dog (the only moving things in the video) using both the picture of the plain background and the video? Maybe something to do with the masking tool?
Any help is much appreciated! _________________ "When life hands you lemons, call them yellow oranges and sell them for double the price!"

Welcome to the forum.
I don't quite know what you are trying to achieve, but it sounds like you need a video editing program rather than a stills editor. However....
In theory is you overlay the dog image as a second layer over the image sans dog and change the layer blend mode to difference, only the dog should be highlighted, as this is the only change in the images. This should make masking easy. Having said that because of the colour of the dog against the background a lot of methods could be used for a masking option, it just may get trickier if the dog moves against a similar hue in other frames.
