Copying & Pasting, Photoshop Layer style.

I design wedding album layouts based on a few standard “base images”, with images layered over them. For consistency throughout the album all images have a (either) white or black line, prior to dragging over onto the base & repositioning.

I have a standard bevel, emboss & shadow setting that is on a PSD image (open in photoshop)

When the design is done I copy & paste that into all of my layers (at once) on the design. HOWEVER both the bevel/emboss & the shadow, nearly always swap their “angles” the shadow (for instance) has a setting of 138 degrees, but when pasted often reverts to 45 degrees. The same, with the bevel & emboss which should be the same (138) but often reverts to -21. This has the effect of the bevel being upside down. I have to be ultra carful that all the settings are correct, prior to sending the images off to the album manufacturer, as it would be a costly mistake!

Any ideas anyone?

Record an action that applies the layer style correctly instead of copy/paste.
The problem you're having is because the new document is using the default settings for those layer styles.
