Is there such a thing as clarity plug in....I know there is on bridge. a plugin would be easier....there is a clarity plugin called clarity but there is a cost I am looking for something more reasonable

The clarity function is adding to the mid-tone contrast, whilst the contrast boosts the low and the high. Adobe RAW, that comes with PS, has a clarity slider, but (and I guess I am preaching to the converted) PS doesn't.

Did a quick search and whilst not a definitive answer for you, it may provide some elucidation.... Midtone Contrast Link Perhaps you can cull something useful or use it as a jump point.

Thanks for the info....I will look more into midtone contrast...I use jpeg and I cannot easily get into adobe raw clarity slider, as matter of fact that is where I got the idea of a clarity plugin, but you gave me an other name to use and that was midtone contrast, so I will seach that out
