I was wondering if someone could tell me how I would go about feathering the edge of the attached image. I want to keep it the same size but I want a small border of black fading in a little bit. Thanks

Feathering refers to selections. What you're talking about is adding a vignette.

Add a new layer>Select the outer edge. Modify the selection by adding a border to the selection. Then feather the selection edge by however many pixels suit your needs. Fill it with black and play with the blending modes and opacity of the border layer.
