crashes right after startup

Hi all,

I just started tutoring a new student on photoshop, but he's also using Bridge. He's working on a windows laptop; using CS5 which he recently installed, and had been using without issue.

The night we started our first session, everything crashed (became unresponsive) every time we tried anything. Multiple startups and shut downs, uninstalled, reinstalled, defragged... Not too much luck. I did install Lightroom and was able to give him a brief tour.

So what could be causing this?

Not sure what could be causing it.

Bit hard to narrow down a problem like that without more details.
It could be hardware or software issues. Did you get any error codes or messages?

Also check windows event viewer when it happens. It should give you some more details.
