|
|
Hi. I purchased Elements 6.0 directly from Adobe- via download. When my hard drive ran out of space I deleted all the installation files.
I've since gotten a new PC (Win7) and want to take PS Elements off the old computer and put it on the new one. Which I believe I'm licensed to do (I might have to de-install from the old PC). But I don't have the original installation file- and Adobe is no help, they tell me it's no longer available and I should give them more money.
Does anybody know where I can download the installation file (which I'd then run and enter my old serial #)? Or can somebody send it to me?
thanks, |

Hello and welcome, Brain Champagne,
Unfortunately, what Adobe told you is likely the only way to go. When you purchased it, Adobe probably didn't guarantee to host the installation file indefinitely. So, if you didn't download a copy for yourself and they have pulled it, there isn't much else that can be done.
You could buy an old copy of Elements 6 and use your serial number or you could buy the latest version of Elements.
Sorry that I can't offer more.
Thanks,

That's why I'm asking if anyody here has a copy of the installation file- then I could run it and use my serial #.
They didn't guarantee to host the installion file forever but it hasn't been that many years (four?) and frankly the cost of keeping it there was probably less than the cost of paying somebody to delete it from their website, especially given how much bad will they have created with me. |

Hello Brain Champagne,
Thank you for your reply.
What I am saying is that it is not appropriate for anyone to share their copy of the installation file with you, even if they had one, because it would almost certainly violate the terms of the license that they agreed to when purchasing/installing the software in the first place. Purchasing the software does not permit you to distribute the installation file to other parties. Sorry.
Thanks,

Oh. I thought the installation file was no big deal because you needed to input a license number to use it. And I have a license for one copy, that I would legally move from one PC to another.
Similar to being able to download the current installation file from Adobe's website, which doesn't run until you input the lic. # (or maybe there's a trial period, but it's the same concept).
Again, I have a license, all I want to do is use what I paid for. |
