|
|
I recently upgraded to a new PC, my old system was running WinXP but now I am on Win7. I am using the same copy of Photoshop CS3 and for some reason on the new system when I use the "lighting effects" filter it produces unwanted horizontal lines running down the entire image. I googled my butt off for a few days now but just keep running in to the same posts, none of which end with a solution. Since this is the same copy I used on the WinXP machine without any issues for several years I would assume it's something with the new system. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling CS3 with no luck, tryed messing with a few settings in the Nvidia control panel with no luck. Not sure what else to try. Anyone have any idea what could fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Yup.
Doesn't mean that anyone knows the answer to your question though.
Have you tried updating your video card drivers? _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

Have you tried disabling the open GL in Photoshop? It may be a case that you have not enough VRAM. It could be a case of disabling things one by one and troubleshooting from there.
And of course reset your PS pref file Ctrl+Alt=Shift held whilst opening PS, it should pop up a dialogue box. _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

I have tried none of this yet but I will plan of doing tonight, although I do not think it could be out of ram. I have 12GB ram and two vid cards on SLI. But I am willing to try anything. |

Ok, to update on this. Nothing has changed, still getting the same issue. Everything in my installation of PS CS3 seemingly works fine except the lighting effects filter which creates horizontal lines when applied. There is no option to disable open GL in the settings, I googled on how to do it, my copy just has no option to do it. My copy is PS CS3 Extended. It is very aggravating and I have googled my butt off on solutions but there is nothing out there I can find. |

Can you post an screenshot/example of the problem?
Sounds like a graphics card issue. |
