Hello ... after a photo shoot shoot last week, I dropped the RAW image files into Bridge and noticed that all white, highlight, hot areas are showing in 'Red' in the RAW work window. This happens to all my RAW files now. Even my old RAW files. I've tried opening files right in photoshop and it still happens. I called my MAC Pro service guy and gave him remote access and he could find no reason for it and he has never seen anyting like it. All the designers I work with ( there are 5 of them ) have never heard of it before either. My service guy suggested I call Adobe - I spent all most two hours trying to find an Adobe customer service number and that was useless. Once I open the file/s all is fine, the image is not affected but, my ability to see the image properly and manipulate the image in the RAW window is affected. What do I do now ? _________________ JT

It's a way of showing you a warning that clipping is going to occur in the highlights, I actually have it turned on all the time. If you lower the exposure using the slide, you will see the effect it has on the red areas. Using a combination of exposure, recovery and blacks, whites and maybe even an adjustment brush or two should yield the best results.
I think O key toggles the behaviour for highlights and U for the shadows. You can temporarily enable the warning by holding Alt/Option key whilst dragging the exposure slider.
