I have a 10240 x 1024 image that i need to cut into 10 1024x1024 images, how do i accomplish this the easiest way?

I tried a fixed size for the marquee tool, but even with snap turned on it's hard to get it to cut exactly where i want (it needs to be precise to the pixel). I mean it would be possible if i spent some time with it, carfully zooming in etc, but since i'm gonna do this more times i need a good way to do this :)

Thanks in return!

I can think of several ways to do this. You can use smart guides with the marquee tool set to fixed size so it snaps to the guides or set the grid to 1024px (edit/preferences/guides grid & slices) so the marquee tool snaps to that.

I tried that and couldnt set it to 1024, it would only allow 1000 pixels, seems like it has to be even numbers.

really stupid of them to make such limitations.

Try View > Show > Grid
Then Edit > Preferences > Grids, Guides and Slices
Set Gridline every 100% with 10 subdivisions.

That'll work too, I like your way of thinking Auieos :)
alternatively you could set the grid to 512px and marquee a 2X2 square.

Thanks! That worked quite well. I still had to zoom in to get it right even with snap turned on though, wish it would snap only to those 1024 squares and nothing else. But it's no huge problem.
