Can fonts, created in Adobe PostScript Type 3 (PS3) be used in Adobe Photoshop CS?
This answer may seem to be an obvious:"Yes!" - but the Adobe Type Manager (ATM) does not support fonts written in PS3.
I have to use PS3, because it contains the full PostScript Programming Language (PSPL) .
I don't know the PSPL, and don't want to learn it if I can't use the fonts i PhotoShop. The language is backwards to me.
.notation postfix like not do I
Tom
PS. I'm almost certain the answer is"No", but I am equally certain there is a "work-a-round"
If so, after so many years, maybe it could - sort of - be made public? |

Good luck with this one.
Maybe if you found a converter to change it from type 3 to another.
This thing might work, it supports pt3

Thanks Auieos Almost exactly what I was looking for - I think.
At the moment, it seems to ignore the PostScript Programming Language (PSPL) that I include in the .ps file.
So, two options -
1, my assumption is correct
2, my PSPL code is "wrong"
I will assume option 2 and keep trying.
Tom
Edit:
Unfortunately, I found this:
<A CFF consumer that does not interpret PostScript can ignore
the embedded PostScript string. The font should still work, but
without the feature that the embedded PostScript would have
activated.>
in Adobe Technical Note #5176
Compact Font File (CFF) is just another "name" for PostScript, and I assume your suggested Font Converter is the consumer. |
