Greetings,
Re Photoshop v8 Organizer
I posted something yesterday and it was my first post to this forum and I fear that I did not explain myself very well.
Our greatest use of Photoshop is the Organizer feature where we can display, select, export, or delete photos. The Folder Location view is very useful for zeroing in on a particular group of photos.
In 2010 we took a month long trip to California, Arizona etc and took 1,050 photos. They are stored in a folder named Trip2010 and the files are named Trip2010-1, Trip2010-2, Trip2010-3 all the way to Trip2010-1050. They are named in the order that we took them.
In Windows Explorer and other programs, they are displayed as Trip2010-1, Trip2010-2, Trip2010-3 all the way to Trip2010-1050.
In Photoshop, in the Folder Location view, if I click on the folder “Trip2010”, here is how they are displayed/ordered; Trip2010-1, Trip2010-10, Trip2010-100, Trip2010-1000, Trip2010-1001, Trip2010-1002 all the way to Trip2010-1050, then Trip2010-106, Trip2010-107 etc. The first photo that we took is displayed beside the tenth photo that we took, which is beside the hundredth photo etc. Every other folder is displayed in the same way and it is very frustrating when looking for a particular photo.
In Thumbnail View the sorting order can be set to Oldest First or Newest First. Even in that view there is no way to display according to filename.
Am I missing something here?
I am getting notices from Adobe saying that there are 10 reasons for upgrading to version 10. I would appreciate it if some user with version 10 could tell me if I will find this ordering/sorting by file name in version 10.
Thank you very much,
