Hello Folks,

When I'm travelling I usually just bring my little Asus eeePC with me, a 1005HAB model, has a screen resolution of 1024x600. Small, but it gets most jobs done. Now I just tried to install CS5 on it, and I know, I know, minimum requirements are 1024x768. I wasn't hopeful.

Photoshop seems to run fine though, I can access all the menus, it's a bit slow, but that's to be expected, but my only issue is the Save and Save As menus. They simply don't appear. Now I've tried changing the screen resolution, but 1024x600 is the maximum I can manage, even through the advanced options in Windows 7.

I'm able to work around it, but it's a true pain in the back. I can make a duplicate of the project, close it, then I get the save menu, save it as a .psd, then go to save for web, and eventually save the image as a .jpg, but even that window is too large for the screen.

So my question to those out there that know more about the runnings of photoshop than me.

Is there any way, at all, that I can use these menus?

This might work, be careful, no guarantees Brow

Go into windows regedit.exe, and go to Edit > Find then search for "DISPLAY1_DOWNSCALINGSUPPORTED"

Change its value from 0 to 1

Restart the computer.

This should allow you to change the screen display settings to a resolution suitable for Photoshop.
