Hi all, I've just joined and I hope someone can help me here because I've just made a massive cock-up. I accidetly hit the "x" on my work while disposing of unwanted stuff, I'm slowly going blind and this is just the sort of thing that bugs me. Is there a failsafe to restore the deleted work as in a recycle bin to delve into?
I have saved 75% of the way through but I would rather not do it all again! Please help if you can? I'm leaving my Pc on and not closing CS5.

BBCode is bulletin board code, it is a proprietry form of code used to format forums, I have bracketed the word Hi below with the code to demonstrate. The word/s go inbetween the two bracketed statements.

Did you shut the file in Photoshop before saving or did you delete the file from your recycle bin altogether. Eitherway I shall throw some links your way and hope that they may help.
Restore .PSD the relevant info is at the bottom of the page.
There are also file recovery tools out there, most of them are commercial, although I think I have found one that may be free (but you will have to do that research to check), here's the link anyway Panda recovery

Just installed Panda recovery and good news! it is free (if you do install it though just beware of all the check-boxes trying to get you to install tool-bars or services you don't want/need) _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade!

You sound a bit like me with a name like that? I like to be left alone. I just had some news to lighten the air for all fellow artists, I've just been registered “Blind” One day I'll show you what a blind man can do with Adobe cs5. Back to the answer you sent and thanks for that, I did look at what you suggested but it can only possibly restore work that had been saved prior and named but never mind a learning curve to make sure we all save as often as possible, however I have come across what might help us all and would really like to hear your opinions.
I'm not sure if this is going to work 100% but I have found a text record of some of my work, previews I'm not so sure yet. What I did was
open CS5 > Edit > Preferences at the bottom of the drop down bar > File Handling.
In this window I did the following;
Image Previews---Always save
File Extensions ---Use lower Case
File Computability I Checked
Prefer Adobe Camera Raw or Support RAW Files
Ask Before Saving Layered TIFF Files
Maximise PSD & PSB File Compatibility Always
& in the recent file list contains, I placed 30 in the box
I would like to know if you chose differently and what results you get. Like I said I have found a text file with my work in it but not yet anything else & I have noticed things have slowed down slightly so if you don't have a lot of RAM and a large Video card then this might not be for you?
