I'm looking to get into web design but I can't afford latest version of photoshop. Is photoshop elements any good for that type of thing?

Yes, it should suffice.

It doesn't have a lot of the layer styles that the full version has, and you won't have the level of control - but it's still extremely impressive for the price.

If you have any specific questions with what it can and can't do, especially in relation to what you need to do, just let me know and I'll give it a try.

Thinking about it, you could always download a 30 day free trial from Adobe. All the features work so you'll get to see if it caters for your needs.

Very helpful...i had a similar question re: the use of Elements.

What better way to know the answer then to try it yourself!! (i didn't know Adobe offered trials on this)
