HELP - Priniting Problems from Photoshop

Going nuts here - just wasted a whole pack of photographic paper, and about 50% of my cartridges, trying to print one picture.

First off .. CS5 and a new HP c140 Photosmart Printer .... this is a very capable printer which prints first class color prints from all other apps.

I have pics that look perfect on screen ... but when printed all blacks are green or blue.

In print settings ... it has printer as detected correctly

I have tried ..
Color Management > printer manages color

Get warning "triangle" to enable printer color management.
- and in print settings colour management is set to "colorsmart/srgb"
with alternative options of "Adobe RGB" or "Application managed colors"

So even when set to Printer manage color and print settings set to Colorsmart/RGB it still fails to print correct colors.

I have also tried setting Color Management to be "Photoshop manage colors"

I know it must be settings ... but I'm stumped.

I only want to set it up to use this printer - I don't send things to print shops.

Set the color handling to Photoshop Manages Colors (1) set the Printer Profile in the dropdown list (2) to the paper that you are using.
**In the print driver disable (turn off) any color management.

I'm not familiar with HP printer drivers, as I have Canon and Epson, so I can't be more specific, but it looks as if Application Managed Colors should be the same as disabling.

By the way, the only assurance of accurate printing is to start with a calibrated monitor.

hi,
not sure how much help this is.. but i noticed that in your printer properties windows there on the bottomleft corner you have setting of adobe rgb!!!

now i have hp 8000, my ps is setup for the printer manage colors... and in my setting the printer is set for sRGB with some some numbers behind it... smiling.....

and my images printed from photo shop is fine .. at least no complaints yet..lol ..

I set it to Adobe RGB on printer settings as that is what is set in ADOBE Print options, (assume they should match)
I could choose sRGB on print options and then set sRGB on printer .
Made no diff to result when I tested.

ADOBE RGB, is set as that is the color profile used for my monitor.

it sure looks like it some sort of setting mismatch

unless you need to up date the printer drivers

This is a new install of W7, I installed the full printer suite from HP, and it its fully up to date .. though I have also posted same Q on HP forum.

No they shouldn't match. As I said before there should be no color management from the print driver, try setting it to Application Managed Colors.

Photoshop is the application that will manage the colors.
