I have been using Photoshop for about 5 years with no dedicated graphics card and was wondering if anybody could tell me if there would be any advantage in finally getting one?
Thanx in advance |

hi,
be nice know what your pc stats what ps version are you using... knowind details can help in the replies especially suggestions apply to your particular system and ps versions ...
advantages..
1. has it own dedicated graphic ram, hence not depriving your programs of your regular precious ram...
2. because it has it own ram and couple of other thngs the graphics are faster.......your system should be alittle faster, etc...
3. now if you do large definition files.... getting a card with shader 3. and opengl 2. support will allow editing to be faaster with your ps ...
note: may want to check and see if your onboard graphics support those.. |

hi,
not sure but it looks like you have a laptop...
so the first question would be is there room for dedicated graphic card...
other than that... for most thing that hd3200 is sufficient but with photoshop , the more intensive editing features could probably use a dedicated card.. that has it own ram and it would be faster card.. may want to look at this reviews...
http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Radeon-HD-3200.9591.0.html
just a tip.... especially since you have 2.3 gig machine i would suggest really tweak your machine where it ss lean and mean ... disble all startups for starters that not only will give more free ram but will also up in the overall performance of machine. |

Hi
No it is a desktop, the reason I was asking about the card is because i am putting together a new board and cpu combo and wondered if i should go with a card if it made a difference.
Thanx again |
