when i click save as option, photoshop shows only following formats and there's no jpg option here.
i have my psd file in 32 bit mode, i read somewhere that i need to go 8 bit to save as jpg file. when i convert my image by flattening and then going to 8 bit mode, the quality gets bad. what should i do ? |

hi,
obviously you want jpg.... and it trued that under your mode setting depending on what check only certain formats can be used for a particular mode....
how about changing your mode setting to 16 bits? how your quality..? 16 bit would allow you to save as jpg...
how about saving it it in tiff format? or is there a requirement it needs to be jpg..... if the issue is with the file size only, there is a option to compress the tif file (default is none) in orderto make it smaller..
additional info...
jpg is a lossy format and you do need to be aware that if too much compression the quality will start to go down... so you may want to make sure that your not compressing to much ...
with that in mind... change your mode to 16 bits and then go t save for the web and pick jpg... in that window you can easily adjust the compression setting and other factors which hopefully maintains thequality you want... |
