I know it's very hard taking pixel by pixel trying to increase the size of a picture, but if anyone know's an easier way, or is good at doing that, could you please help me?
My ex has our kids half way across the country and I only get to see them during the summer. Anyway, she just emailed me a pic she took from her phone of them with Santa and it's really really small.
Could someone help me make the picture bigger without pixelation?

hi,
all i can suggest is post the picture see if any of us can come up with something...

cell phones pictures are generally not only too small but fuzzy/blurry, noisey , extremely poor lighting etc.... ...

you can enlarge acertain amount but if it fuzzy/blurry maybe not too much
can be done.... can't tell untill we see it..

Not much that can be done, even without checking I can see that even this version is pixelated, I daren't think what would happen any larger.

hi,
just thought i let you know my progress...
first keep in mind... this is difficult and maybe almost impossible to get a good quality image...

there basically a copleof issues for starters
1. very very low res image..... and enlarging is always difficult.. to get a fair quality image...
2. the jg format... with small imagelike this the jpeg artifacts are severe..
when you zoom in and you see all that pixelation... most of that are jpeg artiefacts ..... enlarging will make it that more noticable... however there things you can do... tohelp minimize that...

now with this image i attached... and i am still playing with to see if can get better results....
1. i enlarge by double and then did a despeckle
2. i enlarge and again and did a diffuese ...
3. then i did a unsharp

despeckle anddefusing basicallytrying to retains theedges and to soften....

4,. then i reduce by about30% ....

below is the results.... like i said still working on it.... and hopefull other techniques give me better results...

note: i saved it in png format which is better than jpg

Wow that's impressive. But if you think you could get it better, that would be amazing!
